MailScan for SMTP/POP & MailServers

MailScan acts as a gateway between your Corporate Mail Server and the Internet. It scans all e-mails for viruses before letting them through the gateway and does control the content on the body of the e-mail. Mailscan also does SPAM control by checking the validity of the Mail-Sender and their IP-Addresses.

Professional Edition

	Features :
	Scans all e-mail attachments for viruses using the world's best virus scanner, AVP.
	Pure HTML messages (without attachments) are forcibly scanned to stop script viruses like Bubble-boy and KakWorm.
	Option to forcibly delete known malicious attachments (Trojans & Worms) at the gateway level itself.
	Auto-updating of Reserved/Malicious attachments list (web-updateable).
	MailScan can be installed as a service on Windows 95/98 & NT.
	Live update of Anti-Virus signatures from the Internet. The download of updates done using FTP & broken downloads are resumed from the point-of-break.

Enterprise Edition

Apart from the features which are listed in the professional edition, the Enterprise Edition of SMTP Server also has an in-built POP-Downloader Module along with the features listed below.

MailScan Enterprise Edition can act like a POP3 e-mail gateway that allows users to download messages from their ISP's Internet POP3 mailboxes to their local e-mail folder. Though majority of the SMTP-Servers like Microsoft Exchange or Notes has an Internet Mail Service, they do not have the ability to retrieve messages from Internet mailboxes residing at your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

MailScan Enterprise edition uses the POP3 protocol that is the accepted standard for retrieving messages from Internet mailboxes. MailScan POP3 can support any number of POP3 mailboxes on any number of ISPs.

	POP-Downloader can download mails from Multiple POP3 accounts & forward to SMTP Server for delivery purposes.
	Size restriction can be put on mails to be downloaded.
	If any deletion happens because of size restriction, sender is informed about it.
	Supports Wildcard Account download: A single account collecting mails for an entire domain. After downloads, recipient addresses are checked for the domain, each mail separated out & sent to recipient.
	Duplicate mails are checked and not downloaded (deleted at the server itself).
	Smallest size message gets downloaded first & largest later.

MailScan for VPOP3 - Servers

MailScan is the world's first AntiVirus available on the popular VPOP3 E-Mail Server/Gateway platform.
MailScan for VPOP3 software acts like an interface between the VPOP3 Mail-Server and the Internet.
All e-mails that are sent to and received from the Internet are scanned for Viruses before it reaches the final recipient.
MailScan also gives the facility to delete malicious attachments like HAPPY99.EXE and EXPOREZIP at the Gateway Level itself.
If MailScan finds a virus in an e-mail, it cleans the same before delivery. A warning e-mail is also automatically send to the sender of the e-mail.
MailScan detects all kinds of viruses. This includes MS-Office file viruses, DOS & Windows Viruses plus viruses inside ZIP files.
